Naming Customs The American naming custom differs dramatically from that of their British cousins. Whereas most British wizarding families name their pureblood children after constellations, America names them after Greek Gods and Goddesses. This custom started with the first American witch, Hecate Witcher, and pureblood wizards are named in honor of her. Every pureblood witch and wizard must be named after a Greek God or Goddess, it's a taboo America doesn't wish to break. It is unknown what happens to those who do not follow this custom, but it's often said a curse is placed on the family. Halfblood witches and wizards are named after whatever they want, so long as it's not a God or Goddess.
American Cabinet of Magic The American counterpart of the British Ministry of Magic, the Cabinet of Magic, or simply Cabinet, leads the North American Wizarding World. It's located in New Mexico, known as Area 51 by Common Folk.President of Magic The President of Magic works closely with the President of the United States when situations arise that involve the country as a whole, but otherwise works alone. The current President is Crius Paar.
