ARTEMIS ANDROMEDA BLACK
Age Fifteen Sexuality Heterosexual Blood Status Pureblood Nationality British Member Group Gryffindor Occupation Fifth | Artemis keeps her emotion bottled inside her. She doesn't speak of her pains and insecurities to anyone, and often, they have a horrid way of manifesting; the only way they know how. Anger. When the emotions ranging in Artemis are finally released, that raw emotion takes the form of anger, and Artemis can become a demon to be around if she's stressed enough. Through many years, her temper has died down a good bit to the point where when she's angry, she can show some control. Now when's she's snapping at you, Artemis doesn't turn to the others around her and yells at them unless you try to butt in. However, it's surprising how sympathetic Artemis is capable of being. If you're distressed, and she realizes it, the female does what she can to help you through it. Whether that be company, a shoulder to cry on, or just a good listener, Artemis can surprisingly fit the bill. A great witch, Artemis is a potent enemy when armed with a wand. She is especially good at curses, though due to them being the worst of the seven categories, she keeps this a secret from most, though her close friends are aware of her adept at such spells. As pointed out by Ollivander when her wand chose her, Artemis possesses an unusual loyalty to those she calls friends. She would rather herself harmed than her friends, and would readily sacrifice herself for the ones she cares for. If they are harmed, she is not one to cross, and if you do hurt her friends, Artemis becomes a demon with her anger, and she lashes out towards you, often times, these lashing outs require a wand because Artemis is unafraid to draw her own. |

Her Godmother was Lily Potter, however, when Lily was announced dead and Sirius thrown into Azkaban, Artemis was taken in by Remus Lupin, but she would spend every full moon with her First cousin once removed, Andromeda Tonks. It was in this way Artemis grew up, and her new Godfather's lycanthropy kept a secret from her. From an early age, Lupin made sure Artemis knew he wasn't her biological father, but he was the paternal figure in her life. He however, didn't tell Artemis who her father was, no what he had done until the age of ten, and Artemis didn't know how to react. She kind of shrugged it off, but it really ate at her on the inside. Was she going to grow up a killer like her father? Needless to say, Artemis felt both fear and anger at Sirius, unsure what effects he would have on her. She already looked like him; what was to keep her from acting like him too? She already had his temper. When Artemis received her invitation to Hogwarts, she was excited, as were most witches and wizards who received these letters, but she was also afraid she wouldn't be accepted based on her lineage. After all, who wanted to train someone who could turn out to be a killer? It was childhood fears, but Artemis did have them. The first time Artemis met Harry Potter was in passing at the Leaking Cauldron. The man who accompanied him, Rubeus Hagrid, scared the devils out of her though. She knew who she was seeing, but she was timid about talking to him. After all, this was the child of the parents her father murdered. It was he who introduced himself first, and Artemis only answered with her first name. When Artemis went to receive a wand, it was a cedar wand with a dragon heartstring core that chose her. The wand foreshadowed a powerful witch, and a fierce loyalty, though to whom, would remain unknown. Artemis' first year at Hogwarts was relatively uneventful. No one knew whether it was good or bad she was sorted into Gryffindor house, the same house her father was in, but also the house many great wizards were in, including their headmaster. The female was a loner, preferring to stick to herself, though on occasion, she did come to the aide of her fellow housemates. On one occasion, Artemis used the full body bind curse on Draco Malfoy after he used it on Neville Longbottom. The second year at Hogwarts proved fairly the same as the first. She was still a loner in her house, but she did become fairly close with Hermione Granger, and when Harry Potter was accused of being the Heir of Slytherin, Artemis promptly refused to believe such rumors. One of his best friends was muggle born, so why would he attack them? When Hermione was attacked, Artemis was upset, but she didn't show it. Artemis was relieved when the serpent was killed, and those petrified were reverted to their animated states. All in all, the school year ended on a good note. Third year however, was hard on Artemis. Her own father, the very man she scathed and fear, was back, and after Harry Potter himself. Rumors flew, and Artemis was aware many witches and wizards were very distrusting around her, and she wanted nothing more than to escape to Hogwarts, where hopefully, things would be better. They weren't however, and there too, people often gave her dirty looks. Artemis' third year saw her more bitter and temperamental than usual, her short fuse considerably shorter. She would often snap at people if they looked at her the wrong way. Lupin warned her to be careful, and that everyone would be watching her every move. The worst part was when Harry realized just exactly what Sirius had been accused of. The two often got into verbal debates, and once, they had even pulled their wands at each other, threatening to curse the other. However, Lupin arrived and defused the situation, separating the two. Artemis was not present when Harry, Ron, and Hermione learned of his innocence, but Remus told her to talk to Harry down in the Infirmary. Puzzled, Artemis did as asked, and Harry told her of her father's innocence, and he apologized to her for his hostility, but Artemis said it was to be expected. Artemis wasn't allowed to live with her father over the summer because Harry's plan to prove his innocence was foiled, but he would visit the two and often stayed with them, especially on the nights when Lupin underwent his werewolf transformations. It was during these times the two really got to know each other, and Sirius told Artemis about himself, and her likewise. The fourth year at Hogwarts was considerably better for her. She hung out with Harry and his friends, and it was apparent Artemis fit in well. Artemis did what she could to help Harry with the pressure of the tournaments as did the other two, whether it was advice on what spells to use, or just standing up for him when the others accused him of putting his name into the Goblet. During the past summer, Artemis moved into Grimmauld 12 with the other Order members with Remus, but she wasn't allowed to listen in on the meetings between the members, and often spent time upstairs with whoever else happened to be there. She is looking forward to her fifth year at Hogwarts, and is tolerant of the American students. She knows what its like to be an outcast, and Artemis doesn't want others to know what it feels like to be scorned by your peers. |
